This is an incomplete list of species you’ll find within the world of The Harem Project. You’ll also find that some are incomplete listings, only providing information or none at all. As the series progresses and we are introduced or learn more about the species, this index will be updated. 

Here are some rules for each listing:

All are part of a class, an umbrella ‘species’ and then further broken down into their ‘race’ or ‘breed’. They’re all categorized on how powerful they fall from a four demon head 😈😈😈😈 (very rare) being the most powerful to a one demon head 😈 being just a step above humans. Some will include the symbol The Harem Project uses to classify them. If they are marked with a skull and crossbones ☠️, they are hunted by the Division of Silence (all are hunted by ORKA). The phases of the moon depict how common they are with a full moon 🌕 being very common and a new moon 🌑 being exceedingly rare. The halfmoon 🌗 is a good, steady population. Then will follow a brief to detailed explanation about them. These classifications will expand as the series progresses. 

Alchemist 🌗

Class: Magical Species: Human Race: Alchemist 😈😈

Primarily works with mixing elixirs and potions. Though this race sounds mundane, and by themselves they can be quite underwhelming, what they can make is almost impossible.

Angel 🌗

Archangel 🌑

Banshee ☠️🌑

Class: Demonic Species: Demon Race: Banshee 😈😈😈

Banshees hold death in their voice. A properly raised banshee can command it with a whisper. But their best weapon is their death song, a song distinct to each banshee. Banshees often feed on their opponents’ voice first, it giving them strength and feeding their hunger. They also feed on life, which is why when they kill, they get stronger. This is part of the reason Silence fears them as they do. And why they’ve been hunted to near extinction.

They’re noted by their ghostly white skin and long white hair. Their eyes glow white and they see in temperatures when their change has fully taken.

Basilisk 🌗

Boitatá ☠️🌗

Canidae 🌗

Class: Canidae Species: Wolf Race: various 😈😈 to 😈😈😈

Shifters that derive from the many races of wolves within the supernatural realm.

Demon ☠️🌕

Class: Demonic Species: Demon Race: - 😈😈😈

Known primarily for their strength and aggression, a demon is noted by their wings and horns, teeth and claws. They seek death and are very strong in all forms. They breed prolifically. Regardless of what species they breed with, their genetics will take over and their offspring will be demonic. They are hunted because of their strength, thirst for blood, because they breed prolifically.

They are often described as the darkest version of a human and it's common that some races of demons frequently have anti-social disorders.

Djinn ☠️🌗

Class: Fire Species: - Race: - 😈😈

Dragon ☠️🌗

Class: Elemental Species: Shifter Race: Many 😈😈😈

Dragons are hunted because of how dangerous they are. Dragon scales resisted penetration by man made objects. Some claws, like those of other dragons, could tear through. Dragons also shed pretty frequently.

Dragon’s have the unique ability to camouflage to their surroundings.

Elf 🌗

Fae 🌗

Class: Elemental Species: Fae Race: - 😈😈😈

They’re on the darker side. Powerful. Tricky and dangerous. Tall and lanky with claws and pointed ears. Sometimes they have other animal features, like a tail or hooves or antlers. They have wings, too, and though they’re gorgeous, they’re not at all like those of a fairy. Their magic derives from different elements of nature. 

Firebird ☠️🌑

Class: Fire Species: - Race: - 😈😈

They are pure fire. Other supernaturals can see their fire burning in their eyes. Hiding their true self among the nonsupernatural population is difficult since their ‘human’ skin burns too easily and through it, their fiery feathers will bleed through. For this reason, they’re always covered in layers of clothing to hide as much skin from the sun as possible, regardless of the temperature outside.

Their emotions drive the burning of their fire. If they’re upset or angry, their fire burns hot enough that someone else will feel it if in the vicinity. Their touch is able to give third degree burns if they’re not careful.

Fouke ☠️🌗

Class: Monster Species: - Race: - 😈😈😈

“Swamp monster” A fouke is a stalker. A big beast that is made up of shadows and bad omens, more ethereal than solid. A black hole – but not in the same way a void is. A fouke is something more. The things you find in their depths is that of demons so harsh, it’ll break your mind.

Fury ☠️🌗

Class: Demonic Species: Demon Race: Fury 😈😈😈

A fury is a race of demon known for its size and fury. They are typically three to four times larger than all demons with large, bulky muscles, claws, and teeth. Their wings are distinct as having finger-like indexes at the apex, used much like hands. Though a fury doesn’t require a mate, they are a perfect storm of untamed, uncontrolled anger. To counterbalance their inner demon, they’re often surrounded by laughter and jokes, which calms the constant need to destroy. 

Ghost 🌗

Grell 🌕

Class: - Species: - Race: - 😈

Human literature had them depicted from anything between an imp and a sightless floating brain with tentacles instead of a spinal column. In reality, they’re closer to an elf than anything. Except that they have no magic so to speak. An elf can be terrifying depending on how connected to the earth he is. But a grell is just a grell. It’s more in their looks and temperament that make them different from humans.

They’re more harmless than a human. That humans hunt them at all really says more about the humans than it does the monster. 

Gremlin 🌕

Class: - Species: - Race: - 😈😈

Gremlins are known for being approximately four feet tall and lavender in color with pointed ears and sharp teeth. They usually wear a belt made of bones and a strip of cloth that only covers their front. They have a blade with ‘bites’ cut out. 

They’re attracted to shiny things and are often found stealing anything of value. However, they also tend to lurk and hide in unused alleys. They leave a green trail in the air. They often hunt innocent lives and snatch children who stray too far from yards.

Griffon 🌗

Class: Nightbreed Species: Shifter Race: Griffon 😈😈

Griffons are further broken down into different breeds. The most common being the common griffon, the golden griffon, and the hawk griffon. There are rarer breeds, such as the dark griffon and the white griffon. They are a type of shifter and require a mate to fully settle.

Imp 🌕

Jaguar 🌗

A type of shifter who is not your typical animal. A jaguar is winged and horned.

Kappa 🌕

Class: Sea Species: - Race: - 😈

Kobold 🌗

Class: Elemental Species: - Race: - 😈

Manticore 🌗

Class: Aerial Species: Shifter Race: Manticore 😈😈

Body of a lion, head, wings, and front legs of an eagle, and the tail of a scorpion. They grow up in large families and make nests out of discarded animal fur, feathers, and sturdy branches to hold it all together. They are Greek in origin.

Mermaid 🌕

Minotaur 🌗

Body of a man, hooves, and head of a bull. 

Moroii ☠️🌗

Class: Nightbreed Species: Vampire Race: Moroii 😈😈

Much like a traditional vampire but their differences are subtle. Moroii can be in sunlight without any ill effects. 

Nephilim ☠️🌑

Class: Divine Species: Archangel Race: Nephilim 😈😈😈😈

They have some healing abilities, needing to be in physical contact with those they’re trying to mend.

Nightmare ☠️🌑

Class: Demonic Species: Demon Race: Nightmare 😈😈😈😈

A nightmare is everything dark and frightening, with the ability to show you your nightmares, make you live your nightmares, or bring their own nightmares to life. They prefer the cold and have the ability to drop the temperature around them to near freezing. They crave destruction though any kind of disorder stresses them out, making them lose their grip on any semblance of calm quite quickly. They’re often described as a volcano, sitting dormant but ready to erupt when upset. They require a mate to bring them balance. 

They’re noted for having similar traits to a psychopath and a sociopath. They don’t necessarily understand personal space, how to interact and process social cues, nor what is appropriate societal expectations.

Though you’ll not want to see a nightmare, they don’t appear human except in overall shape. Their faces are devoid of eyes and their mouths cover most of the bottom of their head. Their limbs are exaggerated in length, as are the claws on their hands. They have a row of spikes going down their back. Although you don’t generally see them since they surround themselves in absolute darkness, you will see them quite clearly in fear. Their voices in this state are disembodied.

They eat anything bloody.

They are hunted by Silence because of their ability to destroy everything in a very wide radius when let loose. Although they are an apex predator, untamable and uncontrollable, they usually find another person or persons they trust to help keep them in check. 

Ogre 🌗

Orc 🌗

Class: Earthen Species: Race: Orc 😈😈

Oni ☠️🌗

Class: Demonic Species: Demon Race: Oni 😈😈

Epitome of darkness and can ‘suck’ the light away, especially artificial light, but the light usually ‘reignites’ once they’re out of the vicinity. Has the ability to move through shadows.

Pegasus ☠🌗

Class: Aerial Species: Shifter Race: Pegasus 😈😈

Considered ‘pure’ monsters.

Phoenix 🌗

Class: Aerial Species: Shifter Race: Phoenix 😈😈

Requires a mate. 

When injured badly enough, they rebirth in fire or ice, depending on their breed. They are the smallest of the aerial monsters but still a very large bird, about as large as a bison not including its wingspan. His nest is made of limbs and clippings of fir trees. 

Like all aerial monsters, they tend to live in large families.

Pixie 🌕

Class: Magical Species: Pixie Race: 😈

Their monsters are small with pointed ears. They always always look like light is shining off them. Pixies have the fairy tale fairy type glittery physical appearance as a monster, noted for looking like they’re covered in tiny mirrors and reflecting light, even in the night. They’re rather harmless, even with their sharp teeth and claws. Their wings are very fairy-like in appearance. They’re peaceful and prevalent.

Can become invisible when so inclined to do so. Pixies have claws that can pierce like needles and sharp teeth. Otherwise, they are able to blind those around them by controlling the way light reflects from their bodies. 

Seraphim 🌗

Class: Divine Species: Angel Race: Seraphim 😈😈😈

Have a glow (and burn) like the sun. When their glow is at high strength, it can burn and melt. When looked at directly, it can cause blindness, especially in a human.

Shifters 🌕

Class: Shifters Species: Various Race: - 😈 to 😈😈😈

Shifters range from all different species, mouse to bear, moose to house cat. Depending on the species will depend how powerful they are. 

It’s difficult to identify a shifter when they are in their human shape but they will always retain a bit of their animal nature regardless of how they appear.

Sphynx 🌗

Storm 🌗

Class: Storm Species: - Race: - 😈😈😈

The embodiment of different kinds of storm. Some storms can transform their bodies into personifications of their storm, ranging from the size of a dire wolf to the enormity of the clouds overhead.

Storms gain strength when together in bigger numbers. Their energy feeds off each storm, increasing their strength.

Thunderbird 🌑

Class: Aerial Species: Shifter Race: Thunderbird 😈😈😈

Giant birds of prey that expand to cover the sky like a storm. Lightning can spread from their wings, as can thunderstorms as they gather strength.

Makes a nest of bare sticks and twigs. LIke all aerial monsters, Thunderbirds tend to live in large families.

Troll 🌗

Undine 🌕

Class: Sea Species: Race: Undine 😈😈

Unicorn 🌑

Class: Monster Species: Shifter Race: Unicorn 😈😈😈

Unicorn blood has a lot of unique and useful properties. But taking their blood without consent usually meant that those properties came back on the taker.

Valkyrie 🌗

Virtue ☠️🌑

Class: Divine Species: Archangel Race: Virtue 😈😈😈

A darkness of nothing. A dark empty place commanded by the monster it is. Virtues are very empathetic, having the ability to feel others emotions very readily.

Void ☠️🌑

Class: Monster Species: Void Race: - 😈😈😈😈

A darkness of nothing.

Witch 🌗

Class: Magical Species: Human Race: Witch 😈😈

Wraith ☠️🌑

Class: Demonic Species: Demon Race: Wraith 😈😈😈

They are a perfect storm of internal chaos. A wraith is thought to be a cross between a reaper, a ghost, and a demon. Their touch is lethal and they seek to deliver death. All demons tend to retain emotional trauma but a wraith wears it like a skin, affecting everything about them. 

Requires a mate to calm everything in them.

When fully loose, they resemble a reaper with their black cloak and a hood filled with a black void. Their hands are skeletal but they have no legs, moving through space as if they float. They do not have a scythe but their touch of death is visible with the blue glow that hangs around their hands.
